To reduce the risk of fire in the oven cavity:
- Do not overcook food. Carefully attend to appliances when paper, plastic, or other combustible materials are placed inside the oven to facilitate cooking.
- Remove wire twist-ties from paper or plastic bag before placing the bag in the oven.
- If material inside of the oven ignites, keep the oven door closed, turn the oven off, disconnect the power cord, or shut off power at the fuse or circuit breaker panel.
- Do not use the cavity for storage purposes.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Do not leave paper products, cooking utensils, or food in the cavity when not in use. As with any appliance, close supervision is necessary when used by children. This appliance should be serviced only by qualified service personnel. Contact the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. When cleaning surfaces of the door and oven that come together on closing the door, use only mild, nonabrasive soaps, or detergent applied with a sponge or soft cloth. Liquids, such as water, coffee, or tea can overheat beyond the boiling point without appearing to be boiling.
Visible bubbling or boiling when the container is removed from the microwave oven is not always present. THIS COULD RESULT IN VERY HOT LIQUIDS SUDDENLY BOILING OVER WHEN THE CONTAINER IS DISTURBED OR A SPOON OR OTHER UTENSIL IS INSERTED INTO THE LIQUID.
To reduce the risk of injury to persons
- Do not overheat the liquid.
- Stir the liquid both before and halfway through heating it.
- Do not use straight-sided containers with narrow necks.
- After heating, allow the container to stand in the microwave oven for a short time before removing the container.
- Use extreme care when inserting a spoon or other utensil into the container.
Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in the manual. Do not use corrosive chemicals or vapors in this appliance. This type of oven is specifically designed to heat, cook, or dry food.
It is not designed for industrial or laboratory use. Do not operate this oven if it has a damaged cord or plugs if it is not working properly, or if it has been damaged or dropped.use this oven near water, for example, near a kitchen sink, in a wet basement, near a swimming pool, or similar location.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. This appliance is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
WARNING –
Improper use of the grounding can result in a risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician or serviceman if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if doubt exists as to whether the appliance is properly grounded.
If it is necessary to use an extension cord, use only a 3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade grounded plug, and a 3-slot receptacle that will accept the plug on the appliance. The marked rating of the extension cord shall be equal to or greater than the electrical rating of the appliance.
Electric Shock Hazard:
Improper use of the grounding can result in electric shock. Do not plug into an outlet until the appliance is properly installed and grounded.
- A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Longer cord sets or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If a long cord set or extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
- The extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
RADIO INTERFERENCE
- Operation of the microwave oven may cause interference to your radio, TV, or similar equipment.
- When there is interference, it may be reduced or eliminated by taking the following measures:
- Clean the door and sealing surface of the oven.
- Reorient the receiving antenna of radio or television.
- Relocate the microwave oven concerning the receiver.
- Move the microwave oven away from the receiver.
- Plug the microwave oven into a different outlet so that the microwave oven and receiver are on different branch circuits.
FCC RF Exposure Requirements
This device complies with FCC RF radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. The antenna(s) used for this transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter and must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20cm from all persons.
UTENSILS
Personal Injury Hazard:
Tightly-closed utensils could explode. Closed containers should be opened and plastic pouches should be pierced before cooking. See the instructions on “Materials you can use in a microwave oven ” or “Materials can not be used in a microwave oven.” There may be certain non-metallic utensils that are not safe to use for microwaving. If in doubt, you can test the utensil in question following the procedure below.
Utensil Test:
- Fill a microwave-safe container with 1 cup of cold water (8.5 oz) along with the utensil in question.
- Cook on maximum power for 1 min.
- Carefully feel the utensil. If the empty utensil is warm, do not use it for microwave cooking.
- Do not exceed 1 min cooking time.

SETTING UP YOUR OVEN
TURNTABLE INSTALLATION
Cleaning the cooking compartment and putting the turntable in place. For new installations, make sure all packaging and shipping tape has been removed from the turntable shaft. Before using the appliance to prepare food for the first time, you will need to put the turntable in place correctly. You must clean the cooking compartment and accessories. How to put the turntable in place
- Place the turntable ring assembly ③ into the recess in the cooking compartment.
- Place the glass tray ① on the turntable ring assemblies ③. Fit the raised, curved lines in the center of the glass tray bottom between the three spokes of the shaft. Make sure that the glass tray ① engages in the turntable shaft ② in the center of the cooking compartment floor. The rollers on the shaft should fit inside the turntable bottom ridge.
- Never use the appliance without the turntable. Make sure that it is properly engaged. The turntable can turn clockwise or anti-clockwise.
- Never place the glass tray upside down. The glass tray should never be restricted.
- Both glass tray and turntable ring assembly must always be used during cooking.
- All food and containers of food are always placed on the glass tray for cooking.
- Never restrict the movement of the turntable.
- If the glass tray or turntable ring assembly cracks or breaks, contact your nearest authorized service center.
COUNTERTOP INSTALLATION
Remove all packing material and accessories. Examine the oven for any damage such as dents or broken doors. Do not install if the oven is damaged. Cabinet: Remove any protective film found on the microwave oven cabinet surface. Do not remove the light brown Mica cover that is attached to the oven cavity to protect the magnetron.
INSTALLATION
- The minimum installation height is 3.0 ft
- Leave a minimum clearance of 3.0 inches on each side, 3.0 inches on top, and 1.0 inches on the rear.
- Do not remove the legs from the bottom of the oven.
- Blocking the intake and/or outlet openings can damage the oven.
- The operation of a microwave oven may cause interference to your radio or TV reception. Please place the oven as far away from the radios and TV as possible.
- Do not install an oven over a range cooktop or other heat-producing appliance. If installed near or over a heat source, the oven could be damaged and the warranty would be avoided.
SETTING UP ALEXA ON YOUR MICROWAVE OVEN
Your microwave oven can be controlled with Alexa by using any Alexa-enabled device such as Echo or Echo Dot. To control your microwave oven using Alexa, you’ll need to set up your microwave and connect to Alexa. To do so:
- Download the latest version of the Alexa App and “MSmartLife” App from the App Store or Google Play.
- Plug the microwave oven into a power outlet that is grounded.
- Add devices in “MSmartLife” App(Refer to MSmartLife App instruction)
- Click (+)on the APP card page.
Note: - Before adding a new device, make sure the microwave is powered.
- Enter the correct WiFi password and click on the next step;
- Select Add [microwave oven] from the device list, and add this model in the selection: ML-EM34P(SS);
- According to the operation guidelines, the user needs to perform the corresponding operation confirmation on the device, and click [the next step] after the operation is completed;
- Waiting for connection, if the connection fails, please follow the APP guidelines for the next operation;
- Click[Finish], and the device adds successfully.
- Set up Echo with Alexa app (Refer to Alexa App instruction) Link MSmartLife account to Alexa
- Tap“Toshiba iMicrowave” in the Skills& Games, then search. Select and tap [ENABLE] to enable the Toshiba iMicrowave.
- You will be redirected to the account link page. Type in your MSmartLife account and password, then tap [Login] to link your MSmartLife account.
- Control your smart devices through the Echo.
- Discover devices Echo needs to discover your smart devices before it controls them, you can Say “Alexa, discover devices” to Echo. Echo will discover devices that have already been added to the “MSmartLife ”App. you can also tap [DISCOVER] to discover the smart devices. Control devices by voice commands.
BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
The appliance may produce unpleasant odors when it is used for the first time. This section tells you what you need to do before using your microwave to prepare food for the first time. Read the section entitled “IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS” beforehand on page 3.
- Never use the appliance without the turntable.
- Make sure that it is properly engaged. The turntable can turn clockwise or antidote clockwise.
- Before you can use your new appliance, you will need to put the turntable in place correctly. You must also clean the cooking compartment and accessories.
OPERATION
CONTROL PANEL AND FEATURES
You can use your microwave oven without setting it up for Alexa control. However, we highly recommend using your microwave oven with Alexa control to unlock its full potential.
CLOCK SETTING
When the microwave oven is plugged into an outlet, the oven will display ” 0:00 “
- Press ” Cook Time/Clock “, LED will display 00:00.
- The first-hour figure will flash; “:” and the other “0” will be lighted.
- b Press the number keys and enter the correct time. For example, the time is 10:12 now, please press “1,0,1,2” in turn.
- c Press ” Cook Time/Clock” to finish the clock setting. “:” will flash and the clock will be lighted.
- d If the numbers input are not within the range of 1:00–12:59, the setting will be invalid until valid numbers are input.
- In the process of clock setting, if the ” STOP/CANCEL ” button is pressed or if there is no operation within 1 minute, the oven will go back to the former state automatically.
KITCHEN TIMER
- Press ” Kitchen Timer “, the LED will display 00:00, clock indicator will be lighted.
- Press the number keys and enter the correct timer. (The maximum time is 99 minutes and 99 seconds). If it exceeds the range, it does not respond to the input and at the same time beeps two hints.
- Press ” START/30SEC. ” to confirm the setting, the LED will display the current time by counting down. The clock indicator will light.
- When the kitchen time arrives, the clock indicator will go out. The buzzer will ring one time.
- At the end of cooking, the bee rings and returns to standby status.
ALEXA: THINGS TO TRY
CLEANING

- Scratched glass in the appliance door may develop into a crack. Do not use a glass scraper, sharp or abrasive cleaning aids, or detergents.
