Ensure your speaker is set to an audible volume so that you can hear Alexa provide instructions for completing the setup. If the setup process does not automatically start, tap the Devices icon in the lower right of the Alexa App, then follow the instructions to set up a new device.

Connect to your speaker

If you have not already connected your Echo Input to a speaker using Bluetooth or an AUX cable, you should do so now. If you are using Bluetooth, place your speaker at least 3 feet away and follow the instructions in the Alexa App to pair Echo Input to your speaker. If you are not automatically prompted, go to your device’s settings in the Alexa App and select “Bluetooth Devices.” If you are using an AUX cable, your speaker should be at least 0.5 feet away. Some speakers may turn off automatically due to a power-saving mode on the speakers. To avoid an unintentional loss of connection with Echo Input, follow the speaker manufacturer’s instructions to disable power saving mode.
