- Do not overfill the water tank.
- Empty water tank if the appliance will not be used for an extended time (holidays, etc.).
- Replace water in the water tank when the appliance is not operated during a weekend or a similar period.
- Do not use the appliance without a cup placed at a suitable level and ensure the cup support is in place after any usage, to avoid spilling any liquid on surrounding surfaces or connector.
- Do not pour water or other liquids into the brewing unit.
- Keep appliances, capsules, and accessories out of reach of children.
- This appliance is designed for Nespresso Vertuo coffee capsules available exclusively through the Nespresso Club or your Nespresso authorized representative.
- All Nespresso appliances pass stringent controls.
- Reliability tests under practical conditions are randomly performed on selected units. Some units can therefore show traces of previous use.
- Nespresso reserves the right to change instructions without prior notice.
Short cord instructions.
- Use the power cord supplied with the device in an unmodified form. It is important for user safety that the appliance is only used with a suitably grounded electrical supply.
- A short power supply cord detachable power supply cord is to be provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. The appliance is provided with an attached cord.
- Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If a long detachable power cord or extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the detachable power cord or extension should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not dangle over the countertop or tabletop, where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
- The appliance is grounded and only grounded extension cord should be used (type 3-wire cord).
- The appliance has a grounded plug (two blades and one round pin)
- To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a grounded outlet only one way.
- If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.

Descaling
- The descaling solution can be harmful. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and surfaces.
- Nespresso descaling agent, when used correctly, helps to ensure the proper functioning of your machine over its lifetime and that your coffee experience is as perfect as on the firstt day. For instructions on how to descale, consult the section “Descaling” in the Quick Start Guide.
- Any servicing other than cleaning and user maintenance should be performed by an authorized service representative.

Unboxing:
some dust may be present on the surface of the machine due to the recycled materials used in the packaging. This is not dangerous, simply clean it with soft tissue.
Pairing
Please remember that the Bluetooth® mode must be activated beforehand on your smartphone or tablet. To benefit from all features, pair your machine with your smartphone or tablet and connect it to Wi-Fi, following the instructions via the App.
First use or after a long period of non-use
- Rinse and clean the water tank and the lid before filling it only with fresh drinking water. Put the water tank in place and make sure it’s properly attached.
- Ensure the capsule container and the cup support (if necessary for the selected cup size) are in place. For your safety, operate the machine only with a cup and capsule container in position.
- Plug in the power cord.
- For an optimized heating time, close and lock the machine to turn the machine ON. If the machine is already closed and locked, turn the machine ON by pressing the button.
- Light will blink while the machine is heating up. Steady light indicates the machine is ready.
- Place a container of at least 34 fl oz. / 1 L under the coffee outlet.
- Make sure that the machine is still locked. Press the button 3 times within 2 seconds to start cleaning and let the cleaning procedure complete automatically. It will take less than 2 minutes before the start of the flow.
- This operation may take up to 7 minutes. The procedure can be stopped at any time by pushing the button. Once the cleaning is finished, a steady light will appear on the machine. In case you want to resume the cleaning process, push the button again.
Programming the water volume
- The programming is specific to each capsule type, Alto, Mug, Gran Lungo, Double Espresso,o, or Espresso. Cup sizes may be programmed from 0.7 fl oz. / 20 ml to 17 fl oz. / 500 ml.
- Open the machine head; insert the capsule you want to program; close the head; lock the machine.
- Light will blink while the machine is heating up. Steady light indicates the machine is ready.
- Push and hold the button until the desired volume is reached.
- The water volume level is now stored for the capsule type used for the programming.
CAUTION:
caution should be exercised when plugging in the coffee machine with the button pressed. Small quantities of steam may emit from the machine as it evacuates the remaining liquids.

Limited warranty
Nespresso guarantees this product against defects in materials and workmanship for one year. The guarantee period begins on the date of purchase and Nespresso requires the presentation of the original proof of purchase to ascertain the date. During the guarantee period, Nespresso will either repair or replace, at its discretion, any defective product at no charge to the owner.
Replacement products or repaired parts will be warranted only for the unexpired portion of the original guarantee or six months, whichever is greater. This limited guarantee does not apply to any defect resulting from negligence, accident, misuse, or any other reason beyond Nespresso’s reasonable control, including but not limited to normal wear and tear, negligence or failure to follow the product instructions, improper or inadequate maintenance, calcium deposits or descaling, connection to improper power supply, unauthorized product modification or repair, use for commercial purposes, fire, lightning, flood or other external causes.
This guarantee is valid only in the country of purchase or other countries where Nespresso sells or services the same model with identical technical specifications. Guarantee service outside the country of purchase is limited to the terms and conditions of the corresponding guarantee in the country of service. Should the cost of repairs or replacement not be covered by this guarantee, Nespresso will advise the owner and the cost shall be charged to the owner.
Save for losses that cannot be limited or excluded as a matter of law, performance by Nespresso of the obligations imposed on Nespresso herein shall be the full extent of Nespresso’s liability under this guarantee.
