WARNING/GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service representative if you are in doubt whether the appliance is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug if provided with the appliance. If the plug will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

For a grounded, cord-connected appliance
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding will reduce the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance to electric current. If this appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug, the plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is installed and grounded by all local codes and ordinances.

For a permanently connected appliance
This appliance must be connected to a grounded metal, permanent wiring system, or an equipment-grounding conductor must be run with the circuit conductors and connected to the equipment-grounding terminal or lead on the appliance.

• Locate sharp items so that they are not likely to damage the door seal.
• Load sharp knives with the handles up to reduce the risk of cut-type injuries.
• Do not wash plastic items unless they are marked “Dishwasher Safe” or the equivalent. For plastic items not so marked, check the manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Items that are not dishwasher safe may melt and create a potential fire hazard.
• Do not touch the heating element during or immediately after use.
• Do not operate your dishwasher unless all enclosure panels are properly in place.
• Do not tamper with controls.
• Do not abuse, sit on, or stand on the dishwasher door, or dish racks.
• To reduce the risk of injury, do not allow children to play in or on a dishwasher.
• Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a hot-water system that has not been used for two weeks or more. HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE. If the hot-water system has not been used for such a period, before using the dishwasher turn on all hot-water faucets and let the water flow from each for several minutes. This will release any accumulated hydrogen gas. As the gas is flammable, do not smoke or use an open flame during this time.
• Severe product damage and/or injury could result from the use of unqualified service technicians or non-original replacement parts. All repairs must be performed by a qualified service technician using only original equipment factory replacement parts.
• Do not store or use combustible materials, gasoline, or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
• Keep young children and infants away from the dishwasher when it is operating.
• Do not use the dishwasher if it has a damaged power line or plug,  and do not plug the dishwasher into a damaged outlet. Failure to observe these instructions may result in electrical shock.
• This manual does not cover every possible condition or situation that may occur
• Remove the door to the washing compartment when removing an old dishwasher from service or discarding it.

Suffocation Hazard

• Before you throw away your old appliance, remove the door or lid so that children cannot hide or get trapped inside your old appliance.

CAUTION

• Never use harsh chemicals to clean your dishwasher. Some chloride-containing products can damage your dishwasher and may present health hazards!
• Never use steam cleaning products to clean your dishwasher. The manufacturer will not be responsible for the possible damages or consequences.
• To avoid possible dishwasher damage, do not use harsh chemicals,  abrasive cleaners, scouring pads (metal or plastic), or abrasive cloths/paper towels to clean your dishwasher’s exterior door panel. Your dishwasher’s exterior door panel can be damaged by doing so.
• It is highly recommended that the user become familiar with the procedure to shut off the incoming water supply and the procedure to shut off the incoming power supply. See the Installation Instructions or contact your installer for more information.
• If the dishwasher drains into a food disposer, make sure the disposer is empty before running the dishwasher.
• NSF/ANSI 184 Certified residential dishwashers are not intended for licensed food establishments.
• Protect your dishwasher from the elements. Protect against freezing to avoid possible damage to the fill valve. Damage caused by freezing is not covered by the warranty.
• Not for outdoor use.

OPERATING REQUIREMENTS

WARNING

Electrical Shock Hazard

• Electrically ground dishwasher.
• Connect the ground wire to the green ground connector in the terminal box.
• Do not use an extension cord.
• Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire, or electrical shock.

This dishwasher is designed for operation on an adequately wired individual 120 V, 60 Hz, 15- or 20-amp fused electrical supply with copper wire only. It is recommended that a time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is used and that a separate circuit serving only this appliance is provided. If an outlet is used, the outlet should be placed in an adjacent cabinet.

LOCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Install where the dishwasher is protected from the elements. Protect against freezing to avoid possible rupture of the fill valve. Such ruptures are not covered by the warranty.
• Install and level the dishwasher on a floor that will hold the weight and in an area suitable for its size and use.

WATER SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS

• The water supply temperature should be 120°F to 150°F (49°C to 66°C).
• The water supply must maintain water pressure between 20 and 80 psi for sufficient flow.

START-UP GUIDE

IMPORTANT

HOW YOUR DISHWASHER CLEANS
Your dishwasher cleans by spraying a mixture of hot water and detergent through the spray arms against soiled surfaces.  The dishwasher fills with water covering the filter area. Water is then pumped through the multiple filters and spray arms. Soil particles are separated from the water and go down the drain as the water is pumped out and replaced with clean water.  The number of water fills will vary depending on the cycle selected.

BEFORE USING YOUR DISHWASHER

1. Check the filters for debris that may have been introduced from the packaging or during installation. See the “Clean Filters” section.
2. Add Rinse Aid. See “Rinse Aid.”

USING YOUR NEW DISHWASHER

NOTE: To decrease cycle time and possibly improve performance, turn on the hot water faucet nearest to the dishwasher until the water runs hot. Turn off the water.

1. Load dishwasher. See “Dishwasher Loading.”
2. Add detergent. See “Filling the detergent dispenser.”
3. Select the desired CYCLE and OPTIONS. See “Cycle and Option Charts.”
4. Close the door firmly to latch.
5. Press START.
6. Upon the completion of the cycle. The screen will display “END”.

CONTROLS

• POWER
  Press this button for 3 seconds to turn on or turn off the dishwasher.
• DELAY START
  The Delay time feature allows you to program the dishwasher to begin the selected wash cycle 1 to 24 hours later.  Press the “Delay -/+” control repeatedly to toggle from 1 to 24H.
• CYCLES
  Press this button to select the appropriate washing program, the corresponding program indicator will be lit

HEAVY
The heavy cycle is for pots, pans, casseroles, and dinnerware with dried-on or baked-on soil.

NORMAL
Normal cycle with only the Heated Dry option selected is recommended to completely wash and dry a full load of normally

soiled dishes.
The energy usage label is based on this cycle and option combination with the upper rack in the raised position.

ECO
It is suitable to clean normally soiled tableware and it is the most efficient program in terms of its combined energy and water consumption for that type of tableware.

DELICATE
The glass cycle is for lightly soiled loads, such as glass, crystal, and fine china.

QUICK
Delicate cycle is for lightly soiled loads, such as glasses, crystal, and fine china.

RINSE
Use for pre-rinsing dishes or glasses. This is only a rinse that keeps food from drying on your dishes and reduces odor buildup in your dishwasher until you are ready to wash a full load.

• CHILD LOCK
  Use to lock all controls and prevent children from accidentally changing the dishwasher cycle or starting the dishwasher.
  • Press the button for 3 seconds to lock. After the function is selected the control lock icon will illuminate.
  • Press the button again for 3 seconds to unlock.
• OPTIONS
  Options enhance the wash cycle. Some Options are available with only certain Wash Cycles. Refer to the “Cycles and Options Charts” to see which Options are available for the wash cycle you selected.
  • Press the button to select an option, corresponding indicator will be lit
    • HEATED DRY
      When the Heated Dry option is selected, the heater will work during the drying process. The Heated Dry process adds time to the wash cycle.
      
      
    • HI-TEMP
      When the Hi-Temp option is selected, the water temperature will be maintained at 136°F (58°C) maximum during the wash portion of the cycle.
      
      
    • SANITIZE
      When Sanitize is selected, the temperature of water will be maintained at 156.2°F (69°C) max. The maximum temperature may not be reached if the incoming water temperature is not correct. Certified residential dishwashers are not intended for licensed food establishments
• START
  
  • START – Close the door and press START. The pilot lamp “:” on the screen will blink when starting.
  • PAUSE – If you need to pause a dishwasher cycle in the process:
    IMPORTANT: Open the door slightly, and then wait for the spray arms and wash action to stop before opening the door completely. Doing this will help keep you from being splashed with hot water.

1. 1. 1. Open the door slightly and wait a few seconds until the wash action stops.
      2. Open the door to add or remove items.
      3. Close the door and then Press START to resume the wash cycle.

• • CANCEL – To cancel a cycle when the dishwasher is running, press and hold START for 3 seconds. The screen will display”–:–”.
• SCREEN
  This LED screen displays minutes remaining in a running cycle, hours of delay before the unit is set to start, error codes, etc.
  
  
  • If the machine is in operation, the remaining time (mins) of the selected cycle will be shown in the display window.
  • If the Delay option is selected, the number of hours of delay (1h-24h) will be shown in the display window. After the machine starts, the remaining time of the selected cycle will be shown in minutes on the display window.
    NOTE: The remaining time could suddenly increase or drop several minutes. This means the Smart Sensor has checked the soil level and adjusted the number of fill cycles.
  • If an error occurs that is critical to the machine’s function and safe operation, the control shall shut down and indicate an error code in the display window. (See Error Codes)
  • If Error codes are displayed, contact the dealer or qualified service center. They will be available to provide assistance in troubleshooting the problem and/or locate an authorized service technician if needed.

Warning indicators

• If the “ ” indicator is lit, it means the dishwasher is low on dishwasher rinse aid and needs to be refilled.
• If the “ ” indicator is lit, it means the water faucet is closed.

CYCLE AND OPTION CHARTS

PREPARING AND LOADING DISHES

Dish Preparation
Scrape away large pieces of food, bones, pits, toothpicks, etc. The continuously filtered wash system will remove the remaining food particles. Burned-on foods should be loosened before loading. Empty liquids from glasses and cups. Foods such as mustard, mayonnaise, vinegar, lemon juice, and tomato-based products may cause discoloration of stainless steel and plastics if allowed to sit for a long period.

Unless the dishwasher is to be operated at once it is best to rinse off these food soils. If the dishwasher drains into a food disposer, be sure the disposer is empty before starting the dishwasher.

Loading the Upper Basket
Features and appearance of racks and silverware baskets as shown may vary from your model.

The upper basket has been designed for small plates, mugs, glasses, and plastic items marked “dishwasher safe”, etc. For best results, place the bowls, cups, and glasses with soiled surfaces facing down or toward the center. Tilt slightly for better drainage. Load small plates and bowls in two half rows, so the plate in front of it, and the open sides of the plates at the center of the dishwasher face each other. When loading dishes, pull the upper basket out sufficiently so you can load it without striking the counter.
IMPORTANT
Make sure the loaded dishes do not interfere with the rotation of the spray arm located at the bottom of the upper basket. (Check this by rotating the spray arm by hand.)

Loading the Lower Basket
Features and appearance of racks and silverware baskets as shown may vary from your model.

The bottom basket is designed to load plates, soup bowls, plates, saucers, and cookware.

• The adjustable basket space will allow you to load items with a maximum height of 11 inches.
• The fold-down tines in the bottom basket make it easy to load those extra large and hard-to-fit items. The tines may be left up for normal use or folded down for more flexible loading. Fold down for more space to load large pots or pans.
• Load your plates into the dishwasher in two half rows, so that the front of each plate faces the back of the plate in front of it, and the open sides of the plates at the center of the dishwasher face each other.

Large items should be turned so that the inside faces downward. Load large items such as pans and pots into the dishwasher so their open sides face downwards. We recommend loading cups, stemware, and small plates into the upper basket. Larger items should be placed along the edge so they do not interfere with the spray arm rotation. Check to ensure that they do not prevent the detergent dispenser from opening.

Loading the Silverware Basket
Features and appearance of racks and silverware baskets as shown may vary from your model. The silverware basket can be divided into three separate modules that can be used in both upper and lower racks.

IMPORTANT
Load sharp items (knives, skewers, etc.) pointing down. Failure to do so may result in injury. Make sure the loaded dishes do not interfere with the rotation of the spray arm located at the bottom of the upper basket. (Check this by rotating the spray arm by hand.)

Adding a Dish

To add or remove items after the wash cycle starts

1. Open the door slightly and wait a few seconds until the wash action stops before completely opening.
2. Add the item.
3. Close the door firmly to latch and press START, then cyclosome

WARNING
TO AVOID BURN INJURY Slightly open the door and wait until the spray arms and wash action stop. Hot water may splash out of the dishwasher. Failure to do so may result in injury.

DETERGENT AND RINSE AID DISPENSER

The detergent and rinse aid dispenser will automatically release the measured amount of detergent and rinse aid at the appropriate time during the dishwasher cycles. Rinse aid greatly improves drying and reduces water spots and filming. Without rinse aid your dishes and dishwasher interior will have excessive moisture.

The Heat Dry option will not perform as well without rinse aid. The rinse aid dispenser, located next to the detergent cup, automatically releases a measured amount of rinse aid during the last rinse. Check the viewing port over the rinse aid dispenser to determine if the rinse aid is low. Fill as needed.

NOTE
Your dishwasher is designed to use a liquid rinse aid. The use of rinse greatly improves drying performance after the final rinse. Do not use a solid or bar-type rinse aid. Under normal conditions, the rinse aid will last approximately one month. It is best to keep it full, but do not overfill.

Filling the Detergent Dispenser

1. Push the dispenser cover release catch to open the main wash detergent compartment.
2. Add the recommended amount of detergent to the detergent compartment
3. Press down on the top of the cover to secure it.

Filling the Rinse Aide Dispenser
Rinse aid improves the drying performance of the dishwasher. This dishwasher has been designed to use liquid rinse aid only. Using a powdered rinse aid will clog the reservoir opening and cause the dishwasher to malfunction.

WARNING

• DO NOT add regular detergent to the rinse aid dispenser.
• DO NOT use powdered rinse aid in the rinse aid dispenser.

To refill the rinse aid dispenser

1. Lift the end tab of the rinse aid cover to open.
2. Fill the rinse aid dispenser with liquid rinse aid until full. DO NOT overfill.
3. Press the rinse aid cover down firmly to close.

DISHWASHER CARE

Keeping your dishwasher clean improves its performance, reduces unnecessary repairs, and lengthens its life.

Cleaning the Exterior
It’s best to clean spills on the outside of your dishwasher as they occur. Use a soft, damp cloth on the control panel to gently wipe away spills and dust. Do not use benzene, wax, thinner, chlorine bleach, or alcohol. These materials may discolor the inner walls and cause stains. Do not clean the dishwasher by sprinkling water over it and avoid letting water come into contact with any of the electrical parts.

NOTE
If your dishwasher has a stainless steel door panel, you can clean it with a stainless steel cleaner for Home Appliances or a similar product using a clean, soft cloth.

Cleaning the Interior

WARNING

Clean the interior of your dishwasher periodically to remove any dirt or food particles. Wipe the inside of the dishwasher and the inner part of the door with a wet dishcloth. We recommend filling the detergent dispenser with dish detergent and then running the dishwasher empty periodically using either the Normal or Express 60 cycle with the sanitize option.

This will keep your dishwasher clean. If white spots and odor are still present in your dishwasher, run the Normal cycle with the dishwasher empty and without detergent until it flushes. Then, interrupt the cycle and put an 8-ounce cup of white vinegar into the lower basket. Close the dishwasher and let the cycle finish.

WARNING
Do not remove the tub front seal (the long rubber seal enclosing the opening of the dishwasher).

Cleaning The Filters

1. Turn off the dishwasher.
2. Rotate the filter insert counterclockwise to unfasten and then detach the filter insert.
3. Remove the fine filter (flat, rectangular)
4. Remove any dirt or other remains from the filters, and then rinse them under running water.
5. Reassemble the filters in the reverse order of the disassembly, replace the filter insert, and rotate clockwise to the close arrow.

CAUTION
If the filter insert is not closed properly, its performance will be decreased.

Cleaning the Lower Spray Arm
If your dishwasher does not seem to be cleaning adequately or the spray arm nozzles seem clogged, the lower spray arm can be removed and cleaned. Remove the spray arm carefully to avoid damage.

Remove the lower spray arm

1. Check whether the nozzle holes are clogged by food particles.
2. If cleaning is needed, remove the spray arm by pulling it upwards.
3. Clean the nozzles, and then push the spray arm back into place.
4. Rotate the spray arm to check that it is properly in place.

Cleaning the Door Gasket
If the dishwasher door is not closing properly or if water is leaking from the door during the cycle, check that the door gasket is clear of debris. If needed, clean the door gasket with a damp cloth to remove food particles and ensure a tight seal.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Before calling for service, review this list. It may save you both time and expense. This list includes common experiences that are not the result of defective workmanship or material in your dishwasher.

Error Codes
Error codes will display on the display window when the following errors occur:

WARNING

• If overflow occurs, turn off the main water supply before calling a service provider.
• If there is water in the base pan because of an overfill or a small leak, the water should be removed before restarting the dishwasher.

LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY

WHAT IS COVERED

FIRST-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY (PARTS AND LABOR)
For one year from the date of purchase, if this major appliance is installed, operated, and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, Midea America Corporation (hereafter “Midea”) will pay for factory-specified replacement parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship that existed when this major appliance was purchased, or at its sole discretion replace the product. In the event of product replacement, your appliance will be warranted for the remaining term of the original unit’s warranty period.

LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY (STAINLESS STEEL TUB AND INNER DOOR LINER ONLY)
For the lifetime of the product from the date of original purchase, when this major appliance  is installed, operated, and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, Midea will pay for factory-specified parts and repair labor for the following components to correct non-cosmetic defects in materials or workmanship that existed when this major appliance was purchased:

• Stainless steel tub
• Inner door liner

YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL BE PRODUCT REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AS PROVIDED HEREIN. Service must be provided by a Midea-designated service company. This limited warranty is valid only in the 50 states of the United States or Canada and applies only when the major appliance is used in the country in which it was purchased. This limited warranty is effective from the date of the original consumer purchase. Proof of the original purchase date is required to obtain service under this limited warranty.

LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY

WHAT IS NOT COVERED

1. Commercial, non-residential, or multiple-family use, or use inconsistent with published user, operator, or installation instructions.
2. In-home Instruction on how to use your product.
3. Service to correct improper product maintenance or installation, installation not by electrical or plumbing codes, or correction of household electrical or plumbing (i.e. house wiring, fuses, plumbing, or water inlet hoses).
4. Consumable parts (i.e. light bulbs, batteries, air or water filters, etc.).
5. Defects or damage caused by the use of non-genuine Midea parts or accessories.
6. Damage from accident, misuse, abuse, fire, floods, electrical issues, acts of God, or use with products not approved by Midea.
7. Repairs to parts or systems to correct product damage or defects caused by unauthorized service, alteration, or modification of the appliance.
8. Cosmetic damage including scratches, dents, chips, and other damage to appliance finishes unless such damage results from defects in materials and workmanship and is reported to Midea within 30 days.
9. Routine maintenance of the product.
10. Discoloration, rust, or oxidation of surfaces resulting from caustic or corrosive environments including but not limited to high salt concentrations, high moisture or humidity, or exposure to chemicals.
11. Pick-up or delivery. This product is intended for in-home repair.
12. Travel or transportation expenses for service in remote locations where an authorized Midea servicer is not available.
13. Removal or reinstallation of inaccessible appliances or built-in fixtures (i.e. trim, decorative panels, flooring, cabinetry, islands, countertops, drywall, etc.) that interfere with servicing, removal, or replacement of the product.
14. Service or parts for appliances with original model/serial numbers removed, altered, or not easily identified.

The cost of repair or replacement under these excluded circumstances shall be borne by the customer.
