Attaching the Strap
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the second eyelet.
- Use the strap as a shoulder strap. Do not put the strap around your neck.
- Be careful so that the strap does not obstruct the film exit.
Inserting the Battery

One NP-45A battery
(The battery must be fully charged.) Be sure to insert the battery before you load the film pack.
Battery capacity check method
- is displayed: Battery capacity is getting low.
- is displayed: Battery capacity is low. Recharge the battery.
- flashes: No battery capacity remains. Recharge the battery.
Loading a Film Pack
Use Fujifilm Instax mini Color Film only.
- Load the film pack after you turn the camera on.
- is displayed on the counter when the film pack is not loaded.
- Do not remove the film pack from its inner bag until immediately before loading it into the camera.
- Never press the film cover or two holes on the back.
- A film pack contains 1 black film cover and 10 film sheets.
- The film cover is ejected automatically when the back cover is closed.
Taking Pictures
Unloading the film pack

The shutter is not released.
When finished using the camera, always switch off to maintain battery life. If the camera is left switched on for 5 minutes without being used, it will automatically switch off.
Macro Shooting
Select when shooting a subject at close range (30-60cm). The viewfinder is changed for the macro shooting.
Using the Self Timer
For one shot self-timer
Press once
No internet connection, or can not reach the OCR server
Press twice.
Using Various Flash Functions
You can select flash functions according to the purpose.
Fill in flash
Select when you want to use a flash regardless of the brightness. The subject is photographed sharply with backlighting.
Red-eye removal
Select when you want to minimize a red-eye effect. The flash fires 3 times (pre-flashing) before shooting.
Flash off/Blitz aus
Select when you want to shoot without a flash. When flashing, be careful not to blur your shots. Depending on the lighting conditions, the picture may look bluish-green, reddish, or darker or lighter than expected.
Adjusting the Brightness
You can adjust the brightness of the whole picture.
Lighten
Select to lighten the picture if the picture is coming out too dark.
Lighter
Select to make the picture even lighter (brighter) than in the setting.
Darken
Select to darken the picture if the picture is coming out too bright.
Using Various Settings
How to Select the Shooting Mode
Press the MODE button, then press the MODE button again, or turn the MODE dial while an icon is flashing.
- Switching off the camera returns it to Default (No display).
- The setting is retained after the shutter button is pressed.
Available Functions according to Each Shooting Mode
The table below shows functions available in combination with each shooting mode.
- “Default” means a normal mode (No display).
- Not available when the macro mode is selected.
- The flash fires regardless of the brightness.
- This is a default setting. (You cannot select Auto flash.)
- Available when Forced flash or Red-eye removal is selected.
- You can shoot the first and the second subject each using the self-timer.
- You can shoot the first and the second subject successively using the self-timer.
- If you select the macro mode, the shooting mode changes to Default (No display).
About forced ejection of the film
The film is ejected forcibly in the following cases.
- When the battery is removed and loaded after shooting the first subject in the double exposure mode, or while using the bulb shutter.
- When the shooting mode is changed or the power is turned off after shooting the first subject in the double exposure mode.
- When 10 seconds have passed with the shutter button pressed while using the bulb shutter.
