  15. None of the components can be replaced or repaired by users. Only authorized dealers or service centers may open the product. if any parts of your product require replacement for any reason, including normal wear and tear or breakage, contact your dealer.

CAUTION: Removal of the built-in battery invalidates the warranty and may destroy the product.

BUILT-IN BATTERY CARE:

  • Please observe the following if the product contains a battery.
  • Your product is powered by a rechargeable battery. The full performance of a new battery is achieved only after two or three complete charge and discharge cycles.
  • The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but will eventually wear out
  • Unplug the charger from the electrical plug and the product when not in use. Do not leave a fully charged battery connected to a charger since overcharging may shorten its lifespan.
  • If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its charge over time.
  • Leaving the product in hot or cold places, such as in a closed car in the summer and winter conditions, will reduce the capacity and lifespan of the battery.
  • Always try to keep the battery between 0℃ and 45℃ (32℉ and 113℉). A product with a hot or cold battery may not work temporarily, even when the battery is fully charged. Battery performance is particularly, limited in temperatures well below freezing.

  • “Caution”-The battery used in the product may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated.
  • Unless otherwise specified in the user manual or quick start guide the battery in your product can not be removed or replaced by the user. Any attempt to do so is risky and may result in damage to the product. Use of other batteries may present a risk of fire or explosion and the warranty will be terminated.
  • Only recharge your battery according to local regulations. Please recycle when possible.
  • Do not dispose of the battery as household waste or in a fire as it may explode.
  • Batteries may explode if damaged.

CHARGING WARNING!

  • When you disconnect the power cord of a charger from AC mains, grasp and pull the plug, not the cord.
  • Never use a charger that is damaged.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble the charger as it may expose you to dangerous electric shock. Incorrect reassembly can cause electric shock or fire when the product is subsequently used.
  • Avoid charging your speaker in extremely high or low temperatures and do not use the charger outdoors or in damp areas.

Preparation For Use

Unpacking And Set Up

  • Remove the unit from the box and remove all packing material from the unit. Save the packing material, if possible, in case the unit ever needs to be serviced or transported. The original box and packing material are the only safe way to pack your unit to protect it from damage in transit.
  • Remove any descriptive labels or stickers on the front or top of the cabinet. Do not remove any labels or stickers from the back or bottom of the cabinet.
  • The serial number on the bottom of your unit and write this number in the space provided on the Warranty page of this manual.
  • Place your unit on a level surface such as a table, desk, or shelf, out of direct sunlight, and away from sources of excess heat, dirt, dust, moisture, humidity, or vibration.

Protect Your Furniture

This model is equipped with non-skid rubber ‘feet’ to prevent the product from moving when you operate the controls. These ‘feet’ are made from non-migrating rubber material specially formulated to avoid leaving any marks or stains on your furniture. However certain types of oil-based furniture polishes, wood preservatives, or cleaning sprays may cause the rubber ‘feet’ to soften, and leave marks or a rubber residue on the furniture.

To prevent any damage to your furniture we strongly recommend that you purchase small self-adhesive felt pads, available at hardware stores and home improvement centers everywhere, and apply these pads to the bottom of the rubber ‘feet’ before you place the product on fine wooden furniture.

Power Source

This product is designed to be powered by a built-in rechargeable battery, that can be charged up with a DC 5V/1A power supply via a micro USB plug. Remove the charger after fully charged.

Note: The button operation for “Press or Short Press” is to Press the button briefly, and “Long Press” is to Press and Hold the button for 1-2 seconds.

Travel Lock

The unit includes a main switch at the back of the speaker to save battery life and prevent inadvertent button activation when in transit. When power is off, all functions are disabled except the time and alarm function. Time and alarm will keep functioning even if the display is OFF.

Charging the Unit

  1. Connect the micro USB plug to the micro USB charging port at the back of the unit.
  2. Connect the standard USB plug end of the cable to a power USB port on a computer, or other USB charging device, or an AC adapter with a USB jack (not included). For first-time use, approximately 3 hours is required for a full charge.
  3. A red indicator glows while the unit is charging and it changes to green when the unit is fully charged.

Note: Battery will last up to 4 hours when connected wirelessly and up to 12 hours when connected through Line-In Audio Jack.

Setting the Time Manually

Switch on the two buttons located at the back of unit and the top of the unit to ensure the unit is turned. ON Long press the “M” button until the display “Flashes” Hour

  1. Short press the tune down or tune up button to move backward or move forward Hour
  2. Short press the “M” button until the display “Flashes” Minute
  3. Short press the tune down or tune-up button to move backward or move forward Minute
  4. Short press the “M” button to stop “Flashes” after time set
  5. Select 12/24 hour format by short pressing the tune down or tune-up button for selection

Note: To skip manual adjustment, keep it idle for 5 seconds to resume clock display mode. Long press and hold for 5 seconds to reset.

Setting the Alarm

Adjusting the Wake-up times

  • Press the button to adjust the wake-up time for Alarm 1.
  • Press the button to adjust the wake-up time for Alarm 2.

Long Press / to set Alarm Time until the display “Flashes” Hour Short Press tune down or tune-up button to move backward or move forward “Hour”.

Set Minutes

  • Short Press / again to set Alarm Time until the display “Flashes” Minutes
  • Short Press the tune down or tune-up button to move backward or move forward “Minutes”
  • Short Press again to finish the Alarm setting

Note: The sound pattern for both Alarms is the same.

Alarm Clock ON/OFF

  • Short press to turn the Alarm 1 indicator on or off, Alarm “1” will be on or off.
  • Short press to turn the Alarm 2 indicator on or off, Alarm “2” will be on or off.

Snooze Alarm

  • When the Alarm comes ON, the indicator of or and real-time Clock Display will blink
  • Press the “snooze” button to pause it for 10 minutes
  • To turn off Snooze Alarm mode, short press and then short press again to turn off Alarm “1” or short press and then short press again to turn off Alarm “2”

Note: The alarm will ring gradually with low-high volume cycles for 2 minutes and then pause automatically for 10 minutes if not snoozed or turned off.

Pairing Bluetooth Speaker

Short press the M button to select Bluetooth mode( flashes for pairing and the unit will prompt voice notice ” Bluetooth device ready to pair “)

Press the POWER button to turn the unit ON

  • Enable your Bluetooth device and select ER-BT200 from its Available / Paired device list. If pairing is successful, the unit will prompt the voice notice “Bluetooth device is connected” and will become solid.
  • Automatic connection with your Bluetooth devices is possible if they have been paired successfully with this unit before.
  • After being paired, you can play your music through this Bass Boosted Bluetooth Speaker.
  • Long Press the tune down or tune-up button to adjust volume and it can also adjust the volume on the connected audio device.
  • Short Press to pause or resume music playback as well as answering incoming calls.
  • When not listening, press the M button to switch to either radio or clock mode. Or press the power button for 1 second to turn the unit off.

Note: If pairing is unsuccessful, all previously paired Bluetooth devices around should be disconnected or turned off first, to avoid making any auto reconnection between them. Then, set this unit to Bluetooth mode, and tap the Bluetooth switch on your phone/device off and back on again to refresh/search any nearby “ER-BT200” for pairing.

Listening to FM Radio

Press the POWER button to turn ON the unit and press M button to change to Radio mode (“FM” and “MHz” On)

  1. Short press the M button to switch to Radio mode
  2. Auto Searching / Scanning FM Stations (Long press the M button for 2 seconds and release for automatically search and save the scanned radio stations) Note: Searching will stop at a station with acceptable reception for storing to memory.
  3. Recall Stations from Memory
    • Short Press the button, Program number will be shown on the display, switch your stored program number and listen to your favorite station.
    • Short press the Tune Down or Tune Up button to step backward or forward 0.1MHZ to fine-tune or search your favorite station.
    • Long Press the tune down or tune-up button to adjust the volume
    • When not listening, press the M button to switch to either radio or clock mode. Or press the power button to turn the unit off.

Note: Keep the unit away from other electronic devices to avoid radio interference. For better reception, adjust the position of the unit.

Enjoying Audio Source via AUX IN Jack

Press the power button to turn the unit ON

Plug the AUX cable in the “AUX” jack at the back of the unit, and another end connects to the computer, headphone, or line-out jack of an audio device, automatically enters AUX mode, and the AUX indicator lights ON in solid.

Sleep Timer

Short press the SLEEP button to switch the countdown timer(“Zz” ON)

Press the POWER button to turn ON the unit

  • Selecting 3 preset countdown sleep timers by short press and then release, the sleep timer will start counting down and turn off the unit when the selected sleep timer elapsed.
    • S15 stands for 15 minutes
    • S30 stands for 30 minutes
    • S60 stands for 60 minutes
  • To cancel the sleep timer during count down process, repeatedly short-press press “sleep” button to jump to S15 > S30 > S60 to OFF (the “Zz” indicator disappeared)

3-Level Dimmer Control & LED Decor

The brightness of the clock display can be set at High/ Medium/ Low level in standby, Bluetooth, Radio, and AUX modes with a press of “dimmer” button. The LED Decor can be set to High/Low/Off by pressing and holding the “dimmer” button for 2 seconds.

Note: The brightness of the display will stay at the last setting right before powering off.

Care and Maintenance

WARNING

  • Permanent hearing loss may result from long-term exposure to sound at high volumes.
  • Use as low a volume as possible.
  • Speakers are capable of delivering sounds at loud volumes and high-pitched tones. Under certain circumstances, exposure to such sounds can result in permanent hearing loss damage. The volume level may vary based on conditions such as the radio you are using and volume settings. Avoid prolonged use of the speaker at excessive sound pressure levels. Use of the Product:

  • Turn the volume control to its lowest level, when connecting the speaker, and then
  • Slowly adjust the volume control to a comfortable level.
  • Keep the volume at the lowest level possible;
  • If increased volume is necessary, adjust the volume control slowly; and
  • If you experience discomfort or ringing in your ears, immediately discontinue using the speaker.
  • With continued use at a high volume, your ears may become accustomed to the sound level, which may result in permanent damage to your hearing without any noticeable discomfort.

Troubleshooting

UNIT DOESN’T RESPOND (NO POWER)
Make sure the unit is completely charged. Check that all connections are correct and properly plugged in. Make sure your device is properly paired with the ER-BT200

RESETTING THE UNIT
If the unit does not respond properly or appears to be “frozen”, slide the main switch off and back on again to reset the unit.

LIMITED WARRANTY

Emerson Radio Corp. warrants this product to be free from manufacturing defects in the original material, including original parts, and workmanship under normal home use and conditions (“manufacturing defect”) for ninety (90) days from the date of the original purchase in, and if used in the United States. Should service be necessary under this warranty, Emerson will provide the following at our Return Repair Facility provided the manufacturing defect is verified along with the date of purchase:

  • Repair service for ninety (90) days from the date of original purchase at no charge for labor and parts.

To Receive Authorization to Return a Defective Item, please contact Emerson Customer Service at 1-800-898-9020 or http://www.emersonradio.com/service/return-policy. Have your Model number, Serial Number, and dated Proof of Purchase with you when you call.

In the event, the product must be returned to Emerson:

  • Pack the unit in a well-padded heavy corrugated box. Please ensure the item is well padded to avoid damage while in transit back to our facility. If the item incurs damage, it will NOT be replaced and the consumer will be responsible for return freight costs to receive their same unit back.
  • Enclose your check or money order payable to Emerson Radio for $10 to cover return shipping and handling costs.
  • Enclose a note with your name, address, phone number, Return Authorization number, and a brief reason for returning the unit.
  • Enclosed is a copy of your proof of purchase (warranty service will not be provided without dated proof of purchase).
  • Ship the unit prepaid via UPS or parcel post (SHIP INSURED and obtain a tracking number).

NOTE This warranty does not cover:

  1. Damage to equipment not properly connected to the product.
  2. The cost incurred in the shipping of the product to and from Emerson’s Return Facility.
  3. Damage or improper operation of the unit caused by customer abuse, misuse, negligence, or failure to follow operating instructions (including cleaning instructions) provided with the product.
  4. Ordinary adjustments to the product can be performed by the customer as outlined in the owner’s manual.
  5. Signal reception problems are caused by external antenna or cable systems.
  6. Products not purchased in the United States.
  7. Damage to product if used outside the United States.
