- This scale operates on 2 “AAA” batteries ( ). Remove any plastic wrap from the batteries before proceeding. Always replace all batteries at the same time; do not combine old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
- Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the scale.
- Place the batteries into the battery compartment as indicated by the polarity symbols marked in the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover.
- Replace the batteries if “Lo” appears on the display, or the readings grow dim or irregular.
Bathroom Scale Placement
WARNING: Do not place your scale on the carpet, as this will cause the readings to be inaccurate and inconsistent.
For the most accurate readings, we strongly recommend placing your bathroom hard, level surface. For the best results, we recommend placing the scale on surfaces such as ceramic tiles, hardwood, stone, or concrete.
General Weighing Operation
- Please see the “Battery Installation” section of this manual for installation instructions. Also, some models have a static cling label on the lens to prevent scratching. Please remove it before use.
- The scale has been set at the factory to read weight in pounds (lb). You may select kilogram (kg) or stone (st lb) (1 stone = 14 pounds) units of measurement by pressing the button on the bottom of the scale.
- Please place the scale on a flat, hard surface. Carpeted or uneven floors may affect accuracy.
- Step on the scale (disregarding the reading) and step off. This process ensures the scale is set and now ready for use. Do this whenever the scale is moved. At all other times step straight onto the scale.
- Step onto the scale platform and remain still. The display will count up to your weight. Your weight is now displayed.
- The scale will turn off automatically after approximately 10 seconds.
In Case Of Difficulty
- Place your feet in the same position every time weigh yourself. Stand still during measurement.
- Weigh yourself without clothing whenever possible. Clothes can vary in weight.
- Move the scale to a location where it won’t be bumped. If your scale is bumped while being activated or while in use, an inaccurate reading may occur.
- For the most consistent readings, weigh yourself at the same time of the day. Allow for weight functions due to food or during your system.
Precautions
- Clean exposed parts with a soft, slightly damp cloth. To remove stains, use a mild soap. Never use detergents, excess water, treated cloths, harsh cleaning agents, or sprays. Do not attempt to lubricate or open scale casing as this will void your warranty.
- Although your scale is designed to be maintenance-free, it contains sensitive electronic parts. Avoid rough treatment. Do not drop, kick, or jump on it. Treat it with care to ensure the best performance.
- Do not store scale where you store cleaning chemicals. The vapors from some household products may affect the electronic compartment of your scale. Do not store scale on its side.
- This scale is an extremely sensitive weighing device. To prevent a rundown of the battery, do not store anything on the scale.
- Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. The battery may explode or leak. Remove the batteries if the scale will not be used for a long period.

FAQs about Accuweight AW-BS002 Digital Bathroom Scale
What is the Accuweight scale’s accuracy?
Accuweight Bathroom Scales is an accurate and exact basic digital bathroom scale with one of the easiest-to-read displays. It is also known as “The Scale That You Can Count On.” Knowing your fitness development will be of great support to you in maintaining balance in your diet and everyday life.
Do scales get less accurate over time?
Analog scales’ springs may gradually deteriorate over time, which can reduce both their accuracy and repeatability. These scales have a lesser display granularity, so you could also have trouble reading precise numbers.
Can scales deteriorate over time?
Your readings may become erroneous if your scale is subjected to frequent spills, grime, and wear & tear. Similar to any other kind of scale, junk in between the mechanics will lead to ambiguity, imprecise weight scale readings, and maybe even the malfunction of your weigh system.
Scales affected by low battery?
When recording measurements on digital scales, low batteries and bad battery connections are the main causes of scale malfunction and erroneous results. Enough power must be supplied to the scale’s components in order for measurements to be precise.
Can electronic scales malfunction?
Examine the batteries. The first thing you should do is check the batteries if the scale is not working properly or is giving false readings. Verify that they are properly attached and have sufficient power. Wash the scale. Dirt or debris on the sensors might be the cause of irregular readings on the scale.
What kind of battery do scales require?
These dependable batteries are guaranteed to be acceptable replacement cells for popular kitchen scale brands, such as Salter and Taylor. They also guarantee optimal performance of bathroom scales for weight measurement. Another name for CR2032 cells is LR03 R03 MN2400.
Can a scale be harmed by water?
Even while outdoor scales are made to withstand the weather, operators must still take certain precautions to make sure their equipment is safe. Repairing water damage can be very costly, or perhaps unfeasible.
Does gravity have an effect on scales?
Gravitational acceleration on Earth varies latitudinally and with distance from the Earth’s core, with variations of up to 0.5%. Practically speaking, gravity is either assumed or disregarded once a scale has been calibrated at its position.
How can my Accuweight scale be reset?
Turn on the scale by pressing the “-ZERO” button. When it is ready for use, the display shows “8888” at first, followed by zero. To reset (tare) the scale to zero, hit the “-ZERO” button if the display does not show zero. “tArE” will appear on the display before zero.
What may harm an electronic scale?
Things that might create electromagnetic disturbances have a significant impact on digital scales. Because the maximum capacity was exceeded (only once! ), the load cell has been crushed or distorted. Scale is knocked over, dropped, or handled improperly. A low battery is the cause of the problem more than 60% of the time.
