IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE

WARNING:
To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, serious personal injury, and/or property damage:

  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use the handles while the appliance is in use, if applicable. Use protective oven mitts or gloves to avoid burns or serious personal injury.
  • To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the power cord, base, plu,g or product in water or exposeit  to other liquids.
  • Keep the product out of the reach of children and pets. This product is not intended for use by children. Close adult supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children.
  • Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet before cleaning and when not in use. Allow to cool down completely before assembling, disassembling, relocating, or cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not operate the product if it has a damaged power cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Do not attempt to examine or repair this product yourself. Please contact customer service via the email provided in this user manual.
  • Do not leave the product unattended while it is in use. Always unplug the product from the electrical outlet when not in use.
  • To disconnect, push the boil button on the control panel then remove the plug from the outlet. Pull directly on the plug – do not pull on the power cord.
  • Take proper precautions to prevent burns, fire, or personal or property damage as this appliance generates heat and steam during use.
  • Do not plug or unplug the product into/from the electrical outlet with a wet hand.
  • Use the product in a well-ventilated area.
  • Keep the product away from curtains, clothing, dishtowels, or other flammable materials.
  • Do not use attachments not recommended or sold by the product manufacturer.
  • This product is intended for indoor, household use in heating water for consumption. Do not use it outdoors or for any other purpose.
  • Do not allow the power cord to hang (e.g., over the edge of a table or counter) or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place the product on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven or microwave oven.
  • Always place the product on a flat, level, stable surface – it is not recommended to use the appliance on temperature-sensitive surfaces.
  • Connect the power plug to an easily accessible outlet so that the appliance can be unplugged immediately in the event of an emergency.
  • Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.

BEFORE INITIAL USE
If you are using the glass kettle for the first time, it is recommended that you clean your glass kettle before by boiling a full glass kettle of water twice and then discarding the water.

OPERATION

  1. When filling the glass kettle, remove it from the power base.
  2. Open the lid by pressing the lid button and fill it with the desired amount of water. Always fill the glass kettle between the minimum (0.5L) and maximum (1.7L) marks. Too little water will result in the glass kettle switching off before the water has boiled.
    NOTE:
    Do not fill the water over the maximum level, as water may spill out of the spout when boiling. Ensure that the lid is firmly in place before connecting the power cord to the outlet.
  3. Close the lid. Position the glass kettle on the power base. Make sure the glass kettle bottom is completely flat on the power base.
  4. Connect the plug to a power outlet. Press the desired temperature button located on the handle, and follow the required temperature (refer to the section operates control panel buttons). The indicator light will turn on at which point boiling will begin. The glass kettle will switch off automatically once the water has boiled at your desired temperature and the indicator light will turn off. You can shut off the power by pressing the boil button located on the handle at any moment during boiling.
    NOTE:
    Ensure that the control panel is clear of obstructions and the lid is firmly closed. The glass kettle will not turn on if the button located on the handle is constrained or if the lid is left open.
  5. Lift the glass kettle from the power base and then pour the water.
    NOTE:
    Operate carefully when pouring the water from your glass kettle as boiling water may result in severe burns. Do not open the lid when the water in the glass kettle is hot.
  6. The glass kettle will not reboil until the boil button is pushed again. Allow to cool for 30 seconds before reopening to boil water. The glass kettle may be stored on the power base when not in use.
    NOTE:
    Ensure the power base is turned off when the glass kettle is not in use.

OPERATE CONTROL PANEL BUTTONS

This glass kettle uses using IC program to control heat up or keep warm water.

  1. With power-on detecting function:
    when the glass kettle onto the power base, all four indicators in the control panel turn on and one beep can be heard. At the same time, the indicator in the glass kettle lights up in red, green, and blue in sequence and then turns off, and the indicators in the control panel turn off simultaneously, together with one beep heard.
  2. Different colors for indicating different temperatures:
    the indicator in the glass kettle will illuminate in different colors under different water temperatures at any condition. 120°F / 49°C (green), 160°F / 71°C (blue), 175°F / 79°C (purple), 195°F / 90°C (light blue), boil (red).

BOIL WATER
Place the glass kettle on the power base, and select the boil water option by pressing the boil button, the glass kettle starts to work and heat the water to boil directly, at that time, the indicators in the control panel do not light up and the indicator in the glass kettle illuminates in red. When the water temperature reaches a boil, the indicator in the glass kettle will turn off and two beeps can be heard.

PRESET WATER TEMPERATURE

  1. Place the glass kettle on the power base, and select the +/ – option by pressing the – + Preset Préréglage button.
  2. Press the preset button until you select your desired water temperature. After selecting it, you must press the ‘’Boil’’ button for confirmation, the glass kettle starts to work and heat the water to the selected temperature, at that time, all the indicators turn off and two beeps can be heard.

KEEP WARM AT THE SELECTED TEMPERATURE

  1. Place the glass kettle on the power base, and select the +/ – option by pressing the – + Preset Préréglage button.
  2. Press the preset button until you select your desired water temperature. After selecting it, press for 3 seconds the boil button, and the glass kettle will enter keep-warm mode after heating the water to the selected temperature.
  3. The indicator of the selected keep-warm keeps blinking in a cycle of one time/second. When the temperature reaches the selected temperature, one beep can be heard, and the glass kettle will enter the keep-warm condition.

NOTE:
After keeping warm for 30 minutes, the glass kettle will shut off automatically and all the indicators will turn off.
NOTE:
Ensure that the switch is free of obstructions and the lid is firmly closed. The glass kettle will not turn off if the switch is constrained or if the lid is opening.

BOIL-DRY PROTECTION
Should you accidentally allow the glass kettle to operate without water, the boil-dry protection will automatically switch it off. If this should occur, allow the glass kettle to cool before filling with cold water and re-boiling.

CLEANING AND CARE

Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and leave it to cool down completely before cleaning. Never immerse the glass kettle or cord in water or allow moisture to contact these parts.

Removal of mineral deposits
Mineral deposits in tap water may cause discoloration in the glass kettle interior. To remove this build-up, use a non-toxic scale/lime remover and follow its manufacturer’s directions.

Alternative

  1. Fill the glass kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and the remainder with water and let it sit overnight. Do not boil.
  2. Empty the solution from the glass kettle. Any stains remaining inside the spout can be removed by wiping it with a damp cloth. Fill the glass kettle with clean water, bring it to a boil, and then discard the water.
  3. Repeat step 2, then the glass kettle will be ready to use.

Cleaning external housing
Wipe the external housing with a damp cloth or cleaner.

CAUTION:
Do not use chemical, steel, wooden, or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the glass kettle.

CLEANING THE FILTER

Wash the permanent filter in warm soapy water and rinse or place it in the utensil holder of the dishwasher.

STORAGE
When not in use or storage, the power cord may be wrapped under the base of the glass kettle.

This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following:
Negligent use or misuse of the product including failure to clean the product regularly, use for commercial purposes, accident, use on improper voltage or current, and use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly, repair, or alteration by anyone other than a STARFRIT authorized service agent.
