FAQS About Ring Alarm 2nd Generation Contact Sensor
Does the level of the Ring contact sensors matter?
If you have curved or decorative moulding, you can mount your contact sensor or magnet at an angle.
Can I add more touch sensors to Ring Alarm?
Your monthly payments won’t be affected by the number of devices you connect to your Ring Alarm (up to a total of 100 devices).
How long does the battery survive on a Ring contact sensor?
maximum 3 years
Does Ring need wifi for contact sensors?
Without Wi-Fi, you cannot watch videos, receive notifications, or communicate with guests.
Can the Ring contact sensor be used without a hub?
No Contact Sensors can be connected into the Ring app without a Base Station.
Ring sensors communicate in what ways?
Range Extender: The Base Station and Ring Alarm sensors talk to one another over the secure Z-Wave mesh network. Signals from wifi won’t be hampered by this because it isn’t wifi.
Can other sensors be used with a Ring alarm?
The wired contact sensor zones that are typically used for doors and windows can be watched over by the Retrofit Alarm Kit. You should not include them in the Retrofit Alarm Kit if you have wired indoor and outdoor sirens, smoke or CO detectors, wired keypads, or other security equipment.
What is the Ring contact sensor’s temperature range?
4°F to 120°F
Makes noise the Ring contact sensor?
The Ring alarm system has settings for these contact sensors that will emit a low-volume tone or chirp when the system is disabled to alert you when a door, window, etc. has been opened.
Can a Ring contact sensor be painted?
The magnetic field and a coat of paint shouldn’t clash with each other or the signal. However, Ring may claim that it nullifies their warranty for no apparent reason.
