Before getting started, ensure the package contains the following components:
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:
- Read all instructions
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against electrical shock do not immerse the cord, plugs, or the product in water or other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- Do not operate unattended.
- When heating toaster pastries, always use the lightest toast color setting.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- To shut down your appliance, press the CANCEL button, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
- Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
- Oversized foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a toaster as they may involve a risk of fire or electric shock.
- A fire may occur if toasters are covered by or come in contact with flammable material, including curtains, draperies, and walls, when in operation.
- Do not attempt to dislodge food when the toaster is plugged In.
- This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
- This product is for household use only.
- A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords may be used with care.
- If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the detachable power- supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
- The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
- This appliance is not intended to be operated using an external timer or a separate remote-control system.
- Fire hazard! Bread may burn!
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
- To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
Intended Use
The appliance is designed for toasting bread. Only use the appliance for its intended use as described in this instruction manual. Any other use or improper use can cause hazards. No liability will be accepted for damages resulting from improper use.
Before First Use
- Have the appliance run one full cycle at time control dial 6 without any food in it (See Operation).
- Repeat at time control dial 4, and let it complete 2 or 3 codes, still without any food.
- Do this until no odor or smoke can be detected. Ensure ample ventilation.
Note
Manufacturing residues may cause the appliance to emit a slight burning odor when first switched on. This is normal and does not indicate any defect or hazard.
Operation
Quick start
- Place the appliance on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface.
- Unwind the power cord from the cord storage located at the bottom of the appliance.
- Insert 2 slices of bread (or 2 bagels) into the bread slabs (1 each). Do not force the bread or bagel into the slots.
- Connect the power plug to a wall outlet.
- Adjust the time control dial to the desired setting (see Fig. 1).
- Pull the lever down till it locks into position, The red indicator on the CANCEL button lights up.
- When the time is over the lever will spring up and the toaster will automatically power off.
- To interrupt the process at any time, press the CANCEL button. The red indicator on the CANCEL button goes off.
Programs
Further, customize the toasting by selecting/unselecting combinations of the buttons on the control panel:
Note
This program is only available for selection up to approx. 16 seconds into the toasting process. After the first 16 seconds, any programming is no longer possible. In this case, to select one of these programs, it is necessary to cancel the ongoing process, start a new one (by pulling the lever down), and only then select the desired program.
Time Control Dial and Brownina Level
Note
For sliced bread specifically intended for toasting, we recommend setting the time control dial to 4.

The thickness of the slice will directly affect the baking time and the browning.
Note
Baking irregularly shaped bread will cause uneven toast (standard size should be 3.94 × 3.94 × 0.39 inch).
Tips
- Use a lower setting when toasting a single bread slice or slightly dry bread.
- Use a higher setting when toasting fresh or whole-wheat bread.
- When toasting raisins or other fruit bread, remove any loose raisins from the surface of the bread before placing them into the toaster.
- Cut bread into standard size (3.94 x 3.94 x 0.39 inch) to avoid uneven toast.
Removing Toast
Caution
Bread slices and parts of the appliance get very hot and stay hot for some time after operation.
- Do not use conductive tools, such as a fork, to remove toast from the appliance as this may damage the heating elements.
Removing Lodged Toast
- If toast is lodged inside the appliance, lift the lever to raise the toast; If toast is still lodged inside, press the CANCEL button and disconnect the power plug from the wall outlet.
- Wait until the appliance has cooled completely.
- Remove toast carefully and take care not to damage the heating elements.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled completely.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.
- Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions.
- The body of the appliance may be wiped with a dry or slightly damp lint-free cloth.
- Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.
Crumb Tray
- Crumbs and baking residues are collected in the crumb tray.
- Pull out the tray and empty it regularly. Make sure to put the crumb tray back in place before using the toaster again to avoid food falling.
Storage
- Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before storage.
- Wind the power cord around the cord storage located underneath the appliance.
- Store the appliance in a cool and dry place, preferably in its original packaging.
